From Lighthouse Brewing in Victoria BC comes the “Dark Chocolate Porter”. This beer pours a dark brown almost black with a very light coloured head. The aroma of this beer is of heavily roasted malts, chocolate, and some coffee notes. Like typical porters there seems to be a lot of coffee flavor up front with roasted malts and chocolate in behind that and some hops to finish it off. You will find a medium sweetness to this beer like most typical porters. This porter has an alcohol content of 5.5%.
Lighthouse Brewing’s Dark Chocolate Porter is a dark, robust porter flavoured with cocoa nibs sourced from “beyond fair trade” farms in Ghana, West Africa. The raw nibs go through a fermentation process and are then carefully roasted to create a rich and intense chocolate flavour.
