From Olympia, Washington’s Fish Brewing Company comes the “102 Barley Wine Ale” wich is marketed as “Real Ale”. The beer pours a very cloudy copper colour with an off white head. The aroma of the beer is of a floral hops with some heavy sweetness beneath it. When you take a sip of this beer it smacks you in the face with hops and then soothes your taste buds with a very sweet almost grape (Wine) aftertaste. This beer is weird as it hits you with the hops and then gives you the sweetness as most beer seems to greet you the opposite way. The beer sits at 100 IBU and 10% alcohol and boasts 10 different hops were used to make this beer. This is by far the beer with the most hops that I have consumed! This is one weird but good Ale and I will be back for more in the future.
