Thor’s Oakuinox (cask) – Odin Brewing

From Odin Brewing out of Seattle Washington USA comes the “Thor’s Oakuinox” poured from a cask.  This casked beer was tasted at the Summer Cask Festival 2012 at Central City Brewing in Surrey BC.  This is a very Belgian style ale and it shows through with the aroma and flavor of the beer.  The beer is a beep brown colour with a very small head.  The beer has the smell of banana, malts, molasses with some sour yeasty tones.  The flavor of this beer is of malts, banana, molasses, yeasty sourness and maybe some chocolate.  I think there was some more flavor hidden in there as well.  The beer has an alcohol content of 9% and an IBU 0f 20.  The alcohol was not present in the flavor at all even know it was a very high alcohol content!  This was my favorite beer of the Cask Festival and from the sound of it most people’s favorite beer.  I had mentioned my blog to a few people at the festival and most of them hunted me down and excitedly told me about this brew!  Oh ya and the tap handel was almost as wicked as the beer!
