Fat Tug IPA – Driftwood Brewing

From Victoria BC’s Driftwood Brewing comes the “Fat Tug IPA”.    This beer pours a golden colour with an ample white head.  The beer smells of pine, hops and mildly of citrus.  The beer has the flavor of pine and mild citrus with a very good mix of hopy bitterness.  This is a really nice IPA as all Driftwood Brewing’s beers are.  The beer sits at an alcohol content of 7% and an IBU of 80.

This beer was part of Mikes Craft Beer’s first ever tasting but fell near the end and had less imput.  I rated this beer a 7/10 and Tom rated it a 6/10 but let me stress everyone liked it.

I am surprised with a 6 or 7 out of 10 for this beer. In my opinion it is easily one of the best I’ve had all year. I’m curious to see what you’ll think of Sartori Harvest when it comes out next month.

  2. I really liked this beer but I feel I have just had better. I still consider a 7 a very good beer anyways. I really do not like putting ratings to things but you have to differentiate the beer somehow. As for the 6 I am not sure if Tom was a huge fan of hopy beer.
