Pumpkineater Imperial Pumpkin Ale – Howe Sound Brewing

O’hare’s Beer Club October 2013 Box

Fall Seasonal beer

From Squamish’s Howe Sound Brewing comes the “Pumpkineater Imperial Pumpkin Ale”. The beer pours a copper colour with a light brown head. The brew smells of sweet pumpkin, spices and malts. This is a very full flavored beer with pumpkin, sweet spices, malts, cinnamon, nutmeg, anise and a very light hoping. The beer sits at an alcohol content of 8% and an IBU of 19. This very limited Fall release beer is very tasty and should not be missed if at all possible! Howe Sound Brewing is still yet to disappoint and I am starting to believe that they never will!

Commercial Description:  A high gravity pumpkin ale brewed with barley, fresh roasted pumpkin, hops, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, water and yeast, it is one of the local seasonal favorites.  This beer is produced in very limited quantities each fall as part of the John Mitchell series.

Food Pairing according to O’hare’s Beer Club notes are as follows:pumpkin pie, salted nuts

Food pairing as per brewery:  cheese, nuts and pumpkin pie.
