From Orkney Scotland’s Swannay Brewery (Highland Brewing Co.) comes their “Orkney IPA”. This beer was brought back from Scotland by my dad while he was on vacation for a wedding. The beer poured a golden colour with a white head. The aroma of this beer is of citrus (lemon), pine, grapefruit and bitter hops. The flavour of the beer is of citrus, pine and hops. This beer has a nice hopieness given by the Goldings hops used but it is by no means an American Style IPA. The alcohol content of the beer is 4.8%.
Commercial Description: A modern IPA, not overly bitter but still nicely ‘hoppy’ and at 4.8%, just about a session IPA for a sensible night’s drinking. The hop profile is nothing short of stunning.
