If you are reading this before December 15th 2012 then this beer is as of yet unreleased!
From the as of yet unopened Powell Street Craft Brewery in East Vancouver comes their “Old Jalopy Pale Ale” an English Pale Ale with a twist. This pale ale pours a deep cloudy amber/brown colour with a tan head. The aroma of the beer consists of citrus, grapefruit, floral hops with some caramel malts hidden in the background. With your first sip of this wonderful brew you will taste citrus, grapefruit, pine and floral hops up front with some great caramel malts to finish off the experience! The alcohol content of this beer is 5.5% and has an IBU of 40. This is a very good English Style Pale Ale where the hops wont hit you in the face but greet you very pleasantly (Just like the owners!). I will be buying more of this beer when the brewery opens up this Saturday for sure! So get out there and buy some beer before I buy all of it!
Currently Powell Street Craft Brewery beer will only be available at their brewery in either 650ml bombers, 1 liter Boston Rounds (refillable) and 1.89L Growlers. They are working on the logistics of getting their beer out to stores and bars near you!
Bottle Description: A twist on a traditional English Pale Ale. Caramel and English Pale malts were combined with floral, citrus and grapefruit notes of the North American hop giving this ale a very distinct sensory profile.
