Imperial Chocolate Stout – Granville Island Brewing

Winter Seasonal

From Granville Island Brewing located in Vancouver BC comes their Winter seasonal “Imperial Chocolate Stout”.  Like all Bombers (650ml bottles) produced by Granville Island Brewing this beer is actually brewed on Granville Island.  This stout pours an opaque black with a tan head.  The aroma is dominated by sweet chocolate and roasted malts.  The flavour has more depth with sweet milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, coffee, dark fruits, some mild hops and some alcohol.  This is a very tasty creation for the Winter months!  Who needs hot chocolate?  The beer has an alcohol content of 8.4% and an IBU of 40.  Keep up the good work Vern!

Commercial Description:  Our Imperial Chocolate Stout is rich and warming, a perfect complement to cold winter nights. Deep black in colour, it’s brewed with four malt varieties, hops from the Pacific Northwest and organic, fair-trade chocolate from Rogers’ Chocolates.

Food pairing as per GIB:  Pairs well with holiday favourites like ginger bread or fruit cake but might be best served on its own as dessert.
