Pear and Star Anise ESB (Cask) – Bridge Brewing Company

From North Vancouver’s Bridge Brewing Company comes their latest weekly cask the “Pear and Star Anise ESB” a beer brewed not by the Brewmaster but by their other brewer Rachel.  The ESB pours a cloudy red/orange colour with an off white head.  The aroma consists of tons of pear with lots of anise and malts.  The flavour is of pear, star anise and some mild hops bitterness and malts.  The alcohol content comes in at 5.5% with an IBU of 38.  I do not like pear but this beer was wonderful!  I would love to drink more of this beer any day, what a weird and amazing mixture!

Commercial Description:  Sweet and quintessentially autumn Bartlett pears have been freshly juiced and paired with the deep flavour of star anise in this cask-conditioned ESB.
