Brooklyn Blast – Brooklyn Brewery

From Brooklyn New York’s Brooklyn Brewing comes the “Brooklyn Blast” a double IPA.  The beer pours a cloudy deep orange with very little head.  The aroma consists a very mild floral hops and an orangy citrus.  The flavour is of tropical fruits, orange, citrus, caramel malts and a good hops bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 8.4% with an IBU of 53.  This is a wonderfully crafted double IPA with lots of great fruit flavour.

Commercial Description:  We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Food pairing as per brewery:  Very spicy foods, especially Thai dishes, fiery Indian vindaloos, Mexican dishes featuring habañero chilies, and Jamaican jerk chicken.
