O’hare’s Beer Club February 2014 Box
From Portland Oregon’s Occidental Brewing Company comes their “Altbier” in tall cans. This beer pours a dark amber/brown colour with a creamy off white head. The aroma consists of biscuit malts, citrus and hops. The flavour is of biscuit malts, citrus, honey, sweetness and hops bitterness. The alcohol content comes in at 5.5% with an IBU of 50. This would be a great summer sipper on a hot patio!
Commercial Description: Our take on Dusseldorf’s broad style features our most complex grain bill, which produces a malty, amber beer with a lot of flavor. Saphir hops give it a spicy, noble aroma and delicious hop profile. Definitely on the hoppy side for this style of beer.
Food Pairing according to O’hare’s Beer Club notes are as follows: Smoked Sausage
