From Stanley Park Brewery (Turning Point Brewery) in Delta BC comes their “Windstorm West Coast Pale Ale” a limited release. Partial proceeds from this beer go towards the Stanley Park Ecology Society. The beer pours an amber colour with a white head. The aroma consists of tropical fruits, pineapple, melons basically an overall fruity flavour with some sweet malts and floral hops. The flavour is of big tropical notes, pineapple, melons, pine, hops bitterness and malts. The alcohol content comes in at 5.7% with an IBU of 35. It was a nice surprise to find just how much flavour this beer had. I enjoyed it and could see purchasing more in the near future.
Commercial Description: In December 2006, a fierce 120 km/hr windstorm tore a path through Stanley Park, leveling over 10,000 trees in our treasured coastal forest. Though devastating, an empowering story of resiliency and community emerged in its wake. Together we re-built, and individually we strengthened our connection to the Park while ensuring a legacy of ‘nature in the city’ for future generations. With the Limited Release ‘Windstorm’, we affirm our commitment to the enduring legacy of Stanley Park.
Food pairing as per brewery: Grilled Steak, Citrus Salad, Thai Curry, and Roasted Vegetables
Another one I want to try, and have seen locally.
It will be easy to find. Not a normal craft brewery. This one I worth trying for sure. Lots of flavour.
