From Red Collar Brewing in Kamloops in the Okanagan comes their “Tripel” a Belgian Tripel. The beer pours a copper colour with a white head. The aroma consists of yeast, fruits and coriander. The flavour is of yeast, banana, orange and other fruits, coriander, clove, sugar, sweetness, slight bite to the finish and also some mild alcohol warmth. The alcohol content comes in at 9% with an IBU of 12. Tripel’s in general are on the sweet side for me but this is a well made tripel and pretty darn true to style. Make sure to grab a bottle if you like the style!
Commercial Description: This beer is a traditional Trappist brew that is light in colour and high in alcohol. The combination of high alcohol and Trappist yeast give this beer a banana nose and the addition of coriander provides a orange and spicy finish. It is deceivingly smooth and should be consumed with care and respect as the alcohol content can sneak up on you.
