From Richmond BC’s Big River Brewing Company located inside the Zone Bowling Centre comes their “ZZwickel Lager” a German style Zwickelbier or Kellerbier Lager.  The beer pours a golden colour with a white head.  The aroma consists of grainy malts, earthiness and some sweetness.  The flavour is of big grainy and bready malts, a fruity sweetness, some earthiness and mild hops bitterness.  This lager has a quite a bit of body.  The alcohol content comes in at 5% with an IBU of 48.  I don’t run to lagers as a rule but this beer has a ton of flavour and would be a great beer to sip on a patio in the sun or trowing bowling balls down a lane.  Luckily you can do both if you head to the brewery!

Commercial Description:  Unfiltered and hoppy with a mixed strain of fermented lager.  This is not your Dad’s lager (unless Dad is seriously cool!).  A mix of classic European noble hops and NZ Wakatus make this lager unique.
