You always know when you have great friends when they have their friends bring you beer back from their holidays. I was given a can of “Pistonhead Kustom Lager” from Brutal Brewing owned and operated by the employees of Spendrups Bryggeri AB out of Stockholm Sweden. Brutal Brewing is done in the brewers spare time from Spendrups. The lager pours a slightly cloudy golden colour with a white head. The aroma consists of lots of grain, grassy hops and a sweet citrus finish. The flavour is of a lemon citrus, mild grapefruit with grassy hops, grainy malts and a very mild hops bitterness. The beer comes in at 4.9% and is organic according to the brewery. This beer won’t wow North American craft beer fans but it is still pretty tasty and I am glad that I was able to try it out!
Commercial Description: Crafted in our Brutal Brewing workshop, the Kustom Lager is a smooth, light, no-nonsense brew with a spicy citrus edge. What’s more, the brew is organic.
And it glows in the dark when it’s exposed to light for a short time. Need we say more? Didn’t think so.
