From Wheelhouse Brewing in Prince Rupert comes their “Blacksmith Brown Ale”. The beer pours a brown colour with a tan head. The aroma consists of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavour is of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, earth, smooth coffee and some smoke in the finish. The alcohol content comes in at 6.3% with an IBU of 54. While not complex this beer is easy drinking and quite tasty.

Commercial Description:  Because our brewery on the harbour was once a blacksmith’s shop this brown ale pays homage to those craftsmen and labourers who did customized work for the ships up and down the coast. A robust and fortifying beer with old-world smoothness and the nose of West Coast hops, it cuts through the cold and damp while pairing well with hearty and fine foods alike.
