From Vancouver Island Brewing in Victoria comes their “Juan De Fuca Cerveza”. The beer pours a straw yellow colour with a white head. The aroma consists of corn, biscuit malts and sweetness. The flavour is of biscuit, corn, sweetness and a mild grassy hops note. The alcohol content comes in at 4.8% with an IBU of 19. While I would assert that this is a well executed Mexican style lager I don’t personally understand the craft adjunct lager.
Commercial Description: A craft take on a Mexican classic. This light and crisp artisanal cerveza was designed to explore new territories.
Have you had a chance to try Whistler Brewing’s version of a cerveza yet, Mike? Dos Esqueletos. It’s not bad, it’s not Corona, it’s…hmmm…different.
No I have not tried that one yet. I don’t rush out to try this style though.
