Dizzy Dogs DBL IPA – Bad Dog Brewing

Pacific Beer Chat

From Bad Dog Brewing in Sooke near Victoria on Vancouver Island comes their “Dizzy Dogs DBL IPA”.  The beer poured a deep copper colour with an off white head.  The aroma consists of fruity citrusy, melon with floral hops.   The flavour is of Citrus, melon, tropical fruit, toffee, herbal hops and a medium bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 8.3% with an IBU of 84.5.  While not a perfect beer it was an enjoyable sip and I see promise with Bad Dog Brewing.

Commercial Description:  We’ve doggone done some crazy work in the Bad Dog brewery.  We dry hopped three times during active fermentation and mashed it up to an insane 84.5 IBU.  List of hops in this batch include: Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus, Fuggles, Hallertua, Hersbrucker, Magnum, Millenium, Mosaic and probably some stuff lying around… Hang on tight you take Dizzy Dogs for a spin.
