Rookies & Legends (Happening Soon!) – VCBW – June 5th, 2015

Well its almost that time again this year!  Vancouver Craft Beer Week is just around the corner running from May 29th to June 7th, 2015.

For the sixth annual Vancouver Craft Beer week things have only gotten bigger once again.  The event that I can not wait to attend is the “Rookies & Legends” event at the 12 Kings Pub on June 5th, 2015 between 6pm and 10pm.  Tickets run at $49 plus taxes and fees but include the beer and sample sized snacks in that price.  This event brings 24 breweries to pour their wares.  12 Rookies and 12 Legends in the local beer scene.

Pouring for the Legends:
Hoyne Brewing
Tree Brewing
Stanley Park Brewing
Fernie Brewing
Central City Brewers & Distillers (Red Racer)
Phillips Brewing
Parallel 49 Brewing
Red Truck Beer
Townsite Brewing
Vancouver Island Brewing
Steamworks Brewery
Whistler Brewing
Four Winds Brewing

Pouring for the Rookies:
Yellow Dog Brewing
Bomber Brewing
4 Mile Brewpub
Powell Street Craft Brewery
Moody Ales
Bridge Brewing
Postmark Brewing
Steel and Oak Brewing
Strange Fellows Brewing
Barkerville Brewing
BC Craft Brewers Guild (Steel and Oak – Vancouver Island Brewery colab)
33 Acres

The lineup of breweries sound great and I am sure they will be bringing some amazing beer to share with the crowd.  The following is a little blurb from the VCBW website on the event.

“It’s no secret that BC’s craft brewing community is growing. Our province’s rich lineage of influential veteran breweries is balanced with a bubbling crop of exciting new brewers. Rookies and Legends gathers 24 of the BC Brewers Guild’s finest (12 Rookies and 12 Legends) at 12 Kings Pub for an evening of beer, food and good ol’ socializing. Doubling as a fundraiser for the BC Craft Brewers Guild, this event will see brewers from all over the province serving their beers alongside some delicious food offerings from 12 Kings! Your ticket is inclusive of beer samples and a variety of sample-sized food offerings.”

So if this sounds good to you like it does to me pick up your tickets now.  They will not last forever!  If you snooze you loose.  If you do purchase tickets make sure to tap me on the shoulder and say hi!

Note to would be Podcasters
It may seem like a cool idea to podcast with two different bloggers in the same room (With different computers) but there are to many technical issues.  One of which is hearing yourself speak through your headphones (My god that was distracting).  Having to set only one microphone to record and ensuring that your computer doesn’t overrule your muted microphone.  I had to fight to remove a second echo version of my voice on the podcast and it was not simple and was time consuming.
