From Black kettle Brewing Company out of North Vancouver comes their “Wheat Ale”. The beer pours a cloudy straw yellow colour with a white head. The aroma consists of banana, yeast and white with hints of coriander. The flavour is of yeast, wheat, citrus, orange and coriander. The alcohol content comes in at 4.8%. This is a very refreshing wheat ale that will be very popular in the summer months.
From Black kettle Brewing Company out of North Vancouver comes their “India Pale Ale”. The beer pours a cloudy amber colour with a mildly off white head. The aroma consists of citrus, malts and floral hops. The flavour is of fairly big hops bitterness as well as pine, sweet caramel malts, citrus, grapefruit and orange. The alcohol content comes in at 6.4% and an IBU of 65. It is well known that I am a bit of an IPA fiend and I would have to say that this IPA is well worth your sample. It has a great hops bitterness for the alcohol content.
It feels like only last month that a new brewery opened in North Vancouver (Oh ya because that is the case!). Things in North Van are not slowing down though as the Black Kettle Brewing Company has just opened up in the last couple days. Located very close to the North Van Auto mall this is going to be a very busy brewery in the very near future. They may have only launched with their Pale Ale but more beer are in the works including an IPA.
So if you are in North Vancouver for any reason make sure to take a quick stop into the brewery and have a sleeve of beer or get a growler fill or three! Click here to read my review of their Pale Ale
