From Blindman Brewing out of Lacombe Alberta comes their “Long Shadows India Pale Ale” a self proclaimed Vermont-style IPA. The beer pours a golden colour with a little cloudiness and a white head. The aroma consists floral hops and citrus but it is overall pretty mild. The flavour is of grassy and herbal hops, dank hops, pine, citrus, bitterness and caramel. The alcohol content comes in at 7.1% with an IBU of 68. While I would not call this a Vermont-style IPA personally it is really tasty.
From Blindman Brewing out of Lacombe Alberta comes their “Oaked Robust Porter”. The beer pours a deep brown colour with a brown head. The aroma consists of roasted malts, ash, smoke, caramel and coffee. The flavour is of ash, burnt coffee, roasted malts, smoke, caramel, oak, some fruit and a semi sweet finish. The alcohol content comes in at 6.5% with an IBU of 31. While not overly oaky this was a nice porter and if you can find a bottle pick it up.
