From Boombox Brewing in Vancouver brewing out of Dogwood Brewing comes their “Arcade Glow Pale Ale”. The beer pours a cloudy orange colour with a white head. The aroma consists of citrus, biscuit malts and yeast. The flavour is of generic citrus, orange, citrus rind, yeast, resin, biscuit malts and bitterness. The alcohol content comes in at 5% and has a North East haze. Boombox Brewing never disappoints. This stuff is really good!
Ingredients as per brewery: Pale Ale featuring Simcoe, Mosaic and HBC522 hops.
From Twin Sails Brewing in Port Moody in collaboration with Vancouver’s Boombox Brewing comes their “Tone Def Double IPA with Blood Orange”. The beer pours an exceptionally cloudy orange colour with a white head. The aroma consists of blood orange, tropical fruits, citrus, tangerine, sweetness and floral hops. The flavour is of blood orange, tangerine, tropical fruits, citrus, mild citrus rind, bready malts, bitterness and alcohol. The alcohol content comes in at 8% with an IBU of 60. This might be my favourite of the new beers from Twin Sails Brewing. This stuff is epic!
Commercial Description: Tone Def Double IPA is a collaboration with our friends at Boombox Brewing. This NE style DIPA has an addition of 500lbs of blood orange purée and 2L of fresh blood orange zest on top of an already massive amount of hops. We added two huge dry hop additions of Citra, Amarillo and Azacca hops which amplified the citrus juiciness of the aroma and flavour. This beer is nothing short of getting hit in the face with an orange.
From Boombox Brewing located at Callister Brewing in East Vancouver comes their”EZ Duz It IPA” and East Coast IPA. The beer pours a cloudy yellow colour with a white head. The aroma consists of juicy fruit notes including tropical fruits, pineapple and a floral hops finish. The flavour is of tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, citrus and citrus peel, mild malts, pine and bitterness. This beer has a chewy body like most of the cloudy East Coast IPA’s. The alcohol content comes in at 6.7%. While Boombox Brewing is already known for making great East Coast Style IPA’s this one seems to build on that reputation. This beer discussed on the latest episode of Pacific Beer Chat.
From Boombox Brewing located at Callister Brewing in East Vancouver comes their “Coconut Showers Milkshake IPA”. The beer pours a cloudy orange colour with a small off white head. The aroma consists of toasted coconut, lactose and some citrus fruit. The flavour is of sweet and toasted coconut, creamy lactose, citrus, toffee, mild earth and some very mild bitterness. The alcohol content comes in at 7.1%. This was a tasty Milkshake IPA but it comes in at the slightly to sweet side for my personal preference.
