Commercial Description:  It was believed a town like Legend, AB, would be around forever — until its sudden yet inevitable demise early last century. The last grain elevators came down decades later, nearly wiping out any and all remnants of the place. Visitors to the ghost town only rarely ask about the townspeople. Did they die with the town? The truth is lost to time but most choose to believe they packed up and left, attempting to preserve the best traits of the place, to savour the legacy, and moved on to bigger, and dare we say, better things.

Ascension Triple IPA – Howe Sound Brewing

I recommend picking up at least a bottle of this.

Honey Wheat Wine (S2S) – Howe Sound Brewing

From Squamish BC’s Howe Sound Brewing comes their new beer in the Sea To Sky Series of beers a “Honey Wheat Wine”.  This one is release  number 13 in the series.  The beer pours a copper colour with an off white head.  The aroma consists of honey, wheat, vanilla, caramel and fruity esters.  The flavour is of honey, wheat, candy sugar, fruit, caramel, wheat, vanilla, low bitterness and some alcohol.  The alcohol content comes in at 11.3% with an IBU of 25.  At first sip I thought this may end up being a bit to sweet but the flavour is great and never gets cloying.

Entropy Series No 2 – Dageraad Brewing

From Dageraad Brewing in Burnaby BC comes their “Entropy Series No 2” the second of their barrel released beers.  The beer pours a very deep amber colour with a very active off white head.  The aroma consists of candy sugar, pear, oak and some mild brett.  The flavour is of resin, tannins, oak, pear, tropical fruit, candy sugar, pepper, herbal hops and some mild alcohol.  The brett character of this beer will build over time but it is pretty darn subdued right now.  The alcohol content comes in at 6.8%.  This is tasty fresh but if you got two bottles then you should really hold onto the second bottle and let the brett build!
