Cabalier Blue Blueberry IPA – Beau’s All Natural Brewing


From Beau’s All Natural Brewing in Vankleek Hill Ontario comes their “Cabalier Blue” Blueberry IPA. The beer pours very red with some floaties and a light reddish head. The aroma consists of Blueberries, herbal and grassy hops and some grain.  The flavour is of blueberries, mild tropical fruits, some bready malts, herbal and grassy hops with some hops bitterness in the finish.  The alcohol content comes in at 6%  with an IBU of 50.  Leave it to Beau’s All Natural Brewing to come up with a really interesting blend of flavours!

Commercial Description:  Built on the foundation of a generously hopped I.P.A., Cavalier Bleu blends the citrusy aromas of organic New Zealand hop varieties with the fruity flavours found in American Azacca and German Mandarina Bavaria hops. Topping it off is an infusion of organic blueberry juice made from wild Québec blueberries.

Food pairing as per brewery:  Venison steak with a blueberry reduction, blueberry cheesecake, beemster cheese.

IPA NO5 – Collective Arts Brewing


From Collective Arts Brewing in Hamilton Ontario comes their “IPA NO5″ a New England style Double IPA.  The beer pours a mildly cloudy orange with a white head.  The aroma consists of tropical fruit, pineapple, sweetness and floral hops.  The flavour is of tropical fruits, pineapple, melon, juicy notes, sweetness, candi sugar, mild bitterness and some alcohol.  The alcohol content comes in at 8.2%.  This was a really good brew even if it is not the full murk of the style.

Commercial Description:  The 5th in our IPA Series. New England Double Dry Hopped Double IPA. Brewed with massive amounts of Simcoe and Citra hops, this IPA comes in at 8.2% ABV.

Weekend Warriors Double IPA – Old Yale Brewing


From Chilliwack’s Old Yale Brewing comes their “Weekend Warriors Double IPA” a taproom exclusive.  The pours a very cloudy orange with an off white head.  The aroma consists of tropical, citrus, juicy hops, sweetness and floral hops.  The flavour is of tropical fruit, citrus, grapefruit, grapefruit rind, bitterness and resin.  The beer comes in with a New England IPA aroma and a Pacific North West IPA.  You are doing yourself right to try this beer.  Make your way out to Chilliwack soon before it is gone.

 

Finger Guns Simcoe IPA – Twin Sails Brewing


From Twin Sails Brewing in Port Moody comes their “Finger Guns Simcoe IPA”.  The beer pours a hazy orange with a white head.  The aroma consists of  tropical fruit, citrus, grain, floral hops and herbal.  The flavour is of tropical fruit, citrus, herbal hops, grain, dankness and some low bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 7.2%.  If you like a good juice bomb and Simcoe hops then you need to try this.

Commercial Description:  100% Simcoe IPA.  Finger Guns is the next adaptation of our award winner Day Blink pale ale. We hit this beer with a huge dry hop of Simcoe which is instantly noticeable on the aroma. Lots of dankness and peach aromas until front with a soft juiciness in the finish. This beer is definitely one of our favourites in the single hop series and we’re excited to add it to the list!

Tart IPA – Steamworks Brewing


From Steamworks Brewing in Burnaby BC comes their latest release the “Tart IPA”.  The beer pours a very cloudy orange with a white head.  The aroma consists of juicy citrus and mild tropical fruits with floral hops.  The flavour is of citrus, tropical fruits, some herbal hops, mild tartness and a low bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 6.3% with an IBU of 25.  This is an enjoyable twist on a New England IPA and I look forward to having more.

Commercial Description:  Worlds are colliding! Loads of juicy hops combine with a puckering tartness, resulting in a beautifully balanced Tart IPA bursting with flavour.
