From Chilliwack’s Old Yale Brewing comes their “Juicy Tropical Hopped Sour”. The beer pours an orange colour with a white head. The aroma consists of tropical fruits, semi sweet notes and tartness. The flavour is of tropical fruit, tartness, grain and some sweetness. The alcohol content comes in at 5.5%. This would be an amazing brew for a summer patio. Lets hope this one sticks around.
From Boombox Brewing located at Callister Brewing in East Vancouver comes their “‘Pablo Esco Gnar’ IPA” made in collaboration with Machine Ales. The beer pours a very cloudy yellow orange colour with a white head. The aroma consists of very ju9icy tropical fruits, citrus rind, resin and floral hops. The flavour is of juicy tropical fruits, citrus, citrus rind, resin, dank hops, sweetness from lactose, bitterness and tons of body coming from the oats. The alcohol content comes in at 7.2%. This is a great North East Style IPA and I am glad that these two breweries have come together to make a new and exciting IPA! Head to the brewery as soon as possible to try it for yourself.
From Ravens Brewing Company in Abbotsford comes their “Oldhand Coffee IPA” a beer that uses coffee from Oldhand Coffee in Abbotsford. The beer poured a golden orange colour with an off white head. The aroma consists of mild coffee, caramel, tropical fruit and floral hops. The flavour is of juicy tropical fruits, some citrus, caramel, bitterness and a coffee flavour that is not dominant but still quite present. The alcohol content comes in at 6% with an IBU of 70. I really enjoyed this beer as it is truly a juicy IPA with nice undertones from coffee.
