La Vache Folle Imperial Milk Stout – MicroBrasserie Charlevoix

From MicroBrasserie Charlevoix in Baie Saint Paul Quebec comes their “La Vache Folle Imperial Milk Stout” also known as Mad Cow Imperial Milk Stout.  The beer pours an opaque black colour with a brown head.  The aroma consists of roasted malts, earth, chocolate, mild sweetness and coffee.  The flavour is of lactose, chocolate, burnt coffee, roasted malts, earth, ash and caramel.   The alcohol content comes in at 9% with an IBU of 27.  I love a good milk stout and while this one is mild on the lactose it is very tasty.  If you have the chance to try it out I would recommend it.

Commercial Description:  Our Vache Folle Imperial Milk Stout offers intense aromas of roasted malts, coffee, mild bitter, chocolate, and burnt caramel, while its lactose brings just  enough body to it to balance all flavors.  This dark brew is meant to be discovered slowly, lying down on your favorite couch, with squares of dark chocolate or by its glorious lonesome.
