Finger Guns Simcoe IPA – Twin Sails Brewing

From Twin Sails Brewing in Port Moody comes their “Finger Guns Simcoe IPA”.  The beer pours a hazy orange with a white head.  The aroma consists of  tropical fruit, citrus, grain, floral hops and herbal.  The flavour is of tropical fruit, citrus, herbal hops, grain, dankness and some low bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 7.2%.  If you like a good juice bomb and Simcoe hops then you need to try this.

Commercial Description:  100% Simcoe IPA.  Finger Guns is the next adaptation of our award winner Day Blink pale ale. We hit this beer with a huge dry hop of Simcoe which is instantly noticeable on the aroma. Lots of dankness and peach aromas until front with a soft juiciness in the finish. This beer is definitely one of our favourites in the single hop series and we’re excited to add it to the list!

Soothsayer Milkshake IPA – Parallel 49 Brewing

From East Vancouver’s Parallel 49 Brewing comes their latest beer “Soothsayer Milkshake IPA”.  The beer pours a hazy orange colour with a white head and good lacing.  The aroma consists of citrus, juicy hops, lactose, floral and just an overall sweetness.  The flavour is of lactose, orange, orange rind with a hint of both resin and bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 6.5%.  I have to say that this is a nice Milkshake IPA as it is sweet but not overly so like some of them.  One of the most true to style NE IPA’s that Parallel 49 Brewing has made to date to boot.

Market Saturation IPA – Coal Harbour Brewing Co

From East Vancouver’s Coal Harbour Brewing comes their “Market Saturation IPA” a North East style IPA.  The beer pours a cloudy orange colour with a white head.  The aroma consists of orange, tangarine, tropical fruit and some sweetness.  The flavour is of oranges, tangerines, pineapple, melon, oat, wheat, some resin and citrus rind and some mild bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 7.2%.  This is definitely a North East IPA with a little bit of West Coast flair.  They used similar water profile, hops and malts to try and mimic the NE Style and they definitely made a tasty beer with this one.
