Subaquatic Domicile IPA – Hearthstone Brewery

From Hearthstone Brewery in North Vancouver comes their “Subaquatic Domicile IPA”.  The latest IPA from Hearthstone pours an orange colour with a white head that leaves some lacing on the glass.  The aroma consists of pineapple, tropical fruit, sweetness and maybe a hint of malts.  The flavour is of and maybe a hint of earth.  The alcohol content comes in at 6% with an unspecified IBU.  This beer is a nice blend of North East IPA and North West IPA.  It still has the bitterness of the west coast but still has the juicy side of the hops.  I recommend finding some of this for yourself.

Commercial Description:  This Pineapple infused New England Style IPA is hazy, thick, creamy and magical.  Tropical fruit notes from Equanot, Idaho 7 & El Dorado hops are amplified by a healthy dose of Pineapple.  Join the haze craze and get it in ya!

Hazy Daze North East IPA – Howe Sound Brewing

Commercial Description:  “Hazy Daze North East IPA is packed full of as many hops as we could get in it. Brewing techniques, the use of malted oats, and a massive dry hop give this IPA big tangerine, grapefruit, nectarine, melon, guava, mango peel, sweet white grape must, and berry notes. This beer is completely focused on hop flavour and aroma and best enjoyed as fresh as possible!” – Simon Jongsma, head brewer.

Food pairing as per brewery:  The beer has a lot of flavour and aroma so should not be paired with anything too strong. Good complement to fruit dishes, light salads, and more delicate meats marinated with citrus and mild herb seasonings. It’s a perfect beer for summer sipping and al fresco dining.
