From Penticton BC’s Tin Whistle Brewing comes their “Midnight Peach Dark Ale”. The beer pours a very deep copper colour almost brown with a tan head. The aroma consists of peaches, caramel and honey and chocolate. The flavour is of peaches, honey, caramel, chocolate, some roasted malts and maybe a hint of earth and coffee. The alcohol content comes in at 5.5%. Who would have thought that chocolate and peaches would go so well together? Oh wait that is a gimme. This is a tasty new release from Tin Whistle Brewing and would go very well with desert.
Commercial Description: Straight from the Okanagan comes this unique blended beer with hints of chocolate and caramelized honey combined with succulent peaches to create a full bodied dark fruit ale.
From Granville Island Brewing out of Vancouver comes their new “So-Cal Style IPA”. The beer pours a copper colour with a white head and lots of lacing. The aroma consist of citrus, grapefuit, biscuit, caramel and floral hops. The flavour is of citrus, grapefruit, peach, tropical fruits, caramel, toffee, earth, resin and bitterness. The alcohol content comes in at 7.8% with an IBU of 80. While I can’t think of any So-Cal IPA’s this reminds me of I do quite like what they have brought to the table with this beer.
Commercial Description: Like the state of California, our So-Cal Style IPA is big, bold and beautiful. Bright citrus and grapefruit notes dominate this audacious brew thanks to an epic dose of West Coast hops. Pairs well with fish tacos with a citrus salsa.

The flavour is of peaches, grainy and biscuit malts, herbal hops. The alcohol content comes in at 5%. This beer sits on the sweeter side but from the peaches so it’s a balanced sweetness and an enjoyable beer.
From Hearthstone Brewery in North Vancouver comes their “Wyld Peach Berliner Weisse”. Hearthstone has now expanded beyond their Raspberry version of the Wyld. The beer pours a very light yellow colour with a white head. The aroma consists of very juicy peaches and some sweetness. The flavour is of wheat and bready malts, peach, tartness and some residual sweetness in the end. The alcohol content comes in at 3.2% with an IBU of 00. This one is quite mild on the tartness and is full of peach flavour and will be quite refreshing for the summer.

From Torchlight Brewing in Nelson BC comes their “Tripel Abbey Style Ale”. The beer pours a cloudy copper colour with a white head. The aroma consists of mango, melon, peaches, grapefruit candied sugar and sweetness. The flavour is of toffee, candied sugar, fruit, mango, melon, peaches, grapefruit, coriander, mild earth, vanilla and mild alcohol. The alcohol content comes in at 9% with an IBU of 38. Some Tripels are really overly sweet but this one is not. The flavour is great and I wish I could get more bottles.
Commercial Description: This Abbey style ale was made with Belgian Candy Sugar made right here at Torchlight Brewing. The result? A smooth, malty beer that hides its big ABV. Perfect celebration beer!
