Midnight Peach Dark Ale – Tin Whistle Brewing

From Penticton BC’s Tin Whistle Brewing comes their “Midnight Peach Dark Ale”.  The beer pours a very deep copper colour almost brown with a tan head.  The aroma consists of peaches, caramel and honey and chocolate.  The flavour is of peaches, honey, caramel, chocolate, some roasted malts and maybe a hint of earth and coffee.  The alcohol content comes in at 5.5%.  Who would have thought that chocolate and peaches would go so well together?  Oh wait that is a gimme.  This is a tasty new release from Tin Whistle Brewing and would go very well with desert.

Commercial Description:  Straight from the Okanagan comes this unique blended beer with hints of chocolate and caramelized honey combined with succulent peaches to create a full bodied dark fruit ale.

From Granville Island Brewing out of Vancouver comes their new “So-Cal Style IPA”.  The beer pours a copper colour with a white head and lots of lacing.  The aroma consist of citrus, grapefuit, biscuit, caramel and floral hops.  The flavour is of citrus, grapefruit, peach, tropical fruits, caramel, toffee, earth, resin and bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 7.8% with an IBU of 80.  While I can’t think of any So-Cal IPA’s this reminds me of I do quite like what they have brought to the table with this beer.

Commercial Description:  Like the state of California, our So-Cal Style IPA is big, bold and beautiful. Bright citrus and grapefruit notes dominate this audacious brew thanks to an epic dose of West Coast hops. Pairs well with fish tacos with a citrus salsa.
