Grapefruit Radler – Schöfferhofer


From Binding-Brauerei in Germany comes their “Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Raddler”.  The radler pours an orange colour with a white fluffy head.  The aroma is wholly of grapefruit juice.  The flavour is of grapefruit juice, sweetness with only a hint of grain and wheat from the 50% Hefeweizen.  The alcohol content comes in at 2.5% the standard for the style.  You are not going to go wrong with a good radler in the summer and the summer is on the way!

Commercial Description: As you might’ve guessed we’re from Germany, but what might surprise you is that we’re the world’s first Hefeweizen (wheat beer) grapefruit beer. Best served cold, it’s the perfect casual brew to cool you off during the summer, but it can be enjoyed all year round any time of the day. It’s a true 50/50 blend of total refreshment made from 50% Schofferhofer Hefeweizen blended with 50% carbonated juice of 100% natural ingredients.

Brrr! Winter Radler – Strathcona Beer Company


From Strathcona Beer Company in Vancouver comes their “Brrr! Winter Radler”.  The beer pours a red colour with a white head that has a red tinge.  The aroma is more of less one of cranberry cocktail.  The flavour is of cranberries with a hint of mandarin orange, mild tartness and a hint of biscuit malts.  The alcohol content comes in at 4%.  I am a fan of a good raddler and I like when other flavours are used to mix with beer than just grapefruit.  This is really enjoyable and a great one to sip on this winter.

 

Beach Lemon Mandarin Radler – Strathcona Beer Company


From Strathcona Beer Company in Vancouver comes their “Beach Lemon Mandarin Radler”.  The beer pours a murky orange colour with a white head.  The aroma consists of lemons, mandarin oranges, juice sweetness and some grainy notes.  The flavour is of lemon, mandarin oranges, some tartness and some grain from the beer.  The alcohol content comes in at 4% with an IBU of 15.  This is a pretty awesome radler with a ton of flavour and would be great in summer.  This will be hard to find until next summer sadly.

Commercial Description:  A precise blend of lemon peel, fresh mandarin juice and beer. A light, effervescent beer that is thirst quenching and easy to drink with a tart, clean finish.

Cranberry Ginger Radler – Mission Springs Brewing


From Mission BC’s Mission Springs Brewing comes their “Cranberry Ginger Radler” a mix of their Trailblazer Pilsner.  This is their winter seasonal radler.  The radler pours a reddish colour with a reddish white head.  The aroma consists of cranberries, grape juice, ginger and an overall sweetness.  The flavour is of cranberries, sugar, grapes, ginger, hints of pilsner malts and really an overall sweetness.  This is a very sweet beer but not sickeningly as it is basically as sweet as cranberry cocktail.   The alcohol content comes in at 3%.  I enjoyed this so much I picked up at six pack witch is a size that I almost never pick up!

Commercial Desctiption:  Our shandy with a twist!  Fresh cranberry and organic ginger makes this beer undeniably refreshing.

Lemon Ginger Radler – Mission Springs Brewing


From Mission BC’s Mission Springs Brewing comes their “Lemon Ginger Radler” a mix of their Trailblazer Pilsner, California Lemons and an organic ginger root infusion.  The Radler pours a very light cloudy yellow colour with a small white head.  The aroma is dominated by lemons, ginger and an overall sweetness that almost reminds me of a craft pop.  The flavour is of lemonade, ginger, candied ginger a hint of Pilsner malts and a very mild crisp bite.  The alcohol content comes in at 3% with an IBU of 17.  I am a huge fan of radlers and this being a non grapefruit radler makes it event better as it is different!  If you can find a six pack of this beer but three of them!

Commercial Description: This is a light and delicious drink based on our famous Trailblazer Pilsner recipe blended with California lemons and organic ginger root infusion.  At 3% alcohol and with a very refreshing lemon finish and light ginger zing, this beverage is perfect summer refreshment and great over ice.
