Gin & Lime Pilsner – Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks

From Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks in Richmond comes their “Gin & Lime Pilsner” a tasting room favorite that is now in cans.  This Pilsner is infused with Unruly Gin from Wayward Distillation House in Courtenay BC.  The beer pours a mildly hazy straw colour with a white head.  The aroma consists of tons of lime, some grain and a mild gin finish.  The flavour is of lime, grain, mild juniper berries from the gin and basically no bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 5.3% with an IBU of 25.  Not being a Pilsner or lager fan in general let me say this beer is very smooth and refreshing and I could crush a ton of them.

Kizuna Pineapple Sour – Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks (Britannia Brewing Company)

From Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks in collaboration with Britannia Brewing Company both from Richmond comes their “Kizuna Pineapple Sour”.  The beer pours a cloudy yellow colour with a white head.  The aroma consists of pineapple, fruity sweetness and tartness.  The flavour is of pineapple, tartness, hint of wheat and some sweetness in the finish.  This is like an adult juice with a hint of sourness.  The alcohol content comes in at 6.5% with an IBU of 7.  This is probably my favourite of their sour series so far!

Commercial Description:  A delicately tart wheat kettle sour brewed with fresh pineapples.

Dark Side Russian Imperial Stout (Cellared 1 Year) – Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks

From Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks in Richmond comes their “Dark Side Russian Imperial Stout” from the December 2016 Vintage a beer I have had in my cellar for a year.  The beer pours an opaque black with a brown head.  The aroma consists of roasted malts, chocolate, pine and some floral hops.  The flavour is of roasted malts, chocolate, earth, ash, caramel, toffee, pine, resin and alcohol with bitterness in the finish.  The alcohol content comes in at 9.9% with an IBU of 40.  I wish this was not my last bottle in my cellar as it was really tasty and had aged well loosing its almost Imperial Black IPA notes.

Hot Trub Time Machine Part 2 – Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks (Superflux Beer Company)

From Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks in Richmond in collaboration with Superflux Beer Company (formerly Machine Ales) comes their “Hot Trub Time Machine IPA Part 2″.  The beer pours a cloudy yellow with a white head.  The aroma consists of mild tropical, pine, resin, citrus rind, wheat with a floral finish.  The flavour is of with hints of pineapple and citrus.  The alcohol content comes in at 6.9% with an IBU of 61.  This currently tastes like a massive West Coast IPA with the look of an North East IPA.  This was bottled and consumed on Jan 24th, 2018.  The original version of this from 2016 was far more fruity but I have a feeling as this one ages for a week or two the fruit notes will pick up.  Its a really nice West Coast IPA none the less.

Commercial Description:  Hot Trub Time Machine IPA Part 2:  A juicy, dank, pineapple explosion of tropical hops!  Featuring Denali & Vic Secret hops.
