The Alpinist Double IPA – Coast Mountain Brewing

From Coast Mountain Brewing in Whistler comes their “The Alpinist Double IPA”.  The beer pours a copper colour with a white head.  The aroma consists of grapefruit, citrus, fruity, toffee and hops bitterness.  The flavour is of Grapefruit, citrus, tropical fruits, toffee, resin, sweetness, alcohol and hops bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 9.5% with an IBU of 85.  This beer has the alcohol warmth you expect from a Double IPA with lots of great flavour from all the hops added.  If you find yourself in Whistler check this beer out!

Commercial Description:  A monstrous hop bomb of epic proportions. Dry-hopped every three days during maturation for weeks on end to create one of the stickiest of ickiest beers on the planet. Columbus, Citra, Amarillo & Cascade hops run the table on this one.

Treeline Lager – Coast Mountain Brewing

From Coast Mountain Brewing in Whistler comes their “Treeline Lager”.  The beer pours a straw yellow with a white head.  The aroma consists of grain, biscuit, citrus and floral hops.  The flavour is of grain, biscuit, bread, citrusy lemon and some mild bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 4.5% with an IBU of 20.  I am not a huge lager fan but this one has everything you would want from a crisp clean easy drinking lager.

Commercial Description:  Our go-to, any day Lager, built crisp, clean and tasty with traditional ingredients sourced directly from Germany. Brewed repeatedly in small batches for an incredibly fresh taste. You’re welcome.

Fire Steel Red Ale – Coast Mountain Brewing

From Coast Mountain Brewing in Whistler comes their “Fire Steel Red Ale”.  The beer pours a chestnut brown with a tan head.  The aroma consists of caramel, nuts and roasted malts.  The flavour is of caramel, nuts, earth, resin, roasted malts and bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 6% with an IBU of 48.  This is a very tasty red ale and is well worth picking up if you can find it.

Commercial Description:  Our NorthWest Red Ale is brewed with six carefully selected specialty malts and an intense burst of flavour stemming from Simcoe, Centennial & Chinook hops. High in the mountains, Fire Steel shines with flavour.

Field Guide Ale – Coast Mountain Brewing

From Coast Mountain Brewing in Whistler comes their “Field Guide Ale”. The beer pours an amber colour with a white head. The aroma consists of fruity notes, caramel and grainy malts and some floral hops.  The flavour is of bready, grainy and caramel malts with citrus, mild hops bitterness and maybe some earth.  The alcohol content comes in at 5.2% with an IBU of 30.  This is a tasty what I would assume to be a Pale Ale and will fit right in to the atmosphere in the mountain town.

Commercial Description:  German and English specialty malts provide a beautiful body of biscuits, crackers and light caramels. While generous additions of Cascade hops lead us into to a pleasurable back note of grapefruit. This is the perfect lifestyle wrapped up in a pint, always evolving, relaxed & full of flavour.

Woodnutt Brown Ale – Coast Mountain Brewing

From the new brewery on the block in Whistler BC Coast Mountain Brewing comes their “Woodnutt Brown Ale” a beer named after a friend and investor in the brewery (And a great name for a nut brown).  The beer pours a chestnut brown with a brown head.  The aroma consists of caramel, nuts, roasted malts and some earth.  The flavour is of nuts, mild roasted malts, caramel, earth and some bitterness.  The alcohol content comes in at 5.25%.  There are not enough brown ales in BC and I am glad that the market has a new one to be enjoyed now and I did enjoy it.

Commercial Description:  The perfect fall sipper, the Woodnutt Brown Ale is beer full of flavours like caramels, biscuits, chocolate and a slight hint of coffee bean. Enjoy the Woodnutt with the best of friends right here at home in Whistler, BC.
